Footpath Volunteers

A dedicated band of local footpath volunteers look after our rights of way and paths in the parish.  The volunteers keep and eye on the footpaths and carry out maintenance and development work when required. Occasional short meetings are held to update and plan ahead. New volunteers are welcome. The group has worked hard over recent years to develop and maintain the Alderbury and Whaddon Circular Walk.  Click here for a map showing all Rights of Way in Alderbury and Whaddon.  If you would like to get involved with the friendly band of volunteers, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Phil Spooner.

Litter Pickers

There are a dedicated bunch of litter pickers who go out and about wombling in the village, picking up the litter left behind by others.  It keeps the village looking its best, somewhere we can all be proud of.  It is also important because every year we enter the Best Kept Village Competition run by the Campaign for Rural England - we have won the top prize in the past.  We are always on the look out for new volunteers.  Its fun, sociable and healthy and we don't go out that often, so if you want to help keep out lovely village looking neat and tidy, please get in touch.
